Although it is great at certain things, in terms of preventative medicine it can also fall short and holistic and traditional medicine systems are much more suitable for preventative and chronic illnesses.

ShaoWen (Lilian) Yu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor from Taiwan who also has background training in Western medicine. A Registered Acupuncturist of PEI and having passed the qualifying examination of the Medical Council of Canada, she is now focusing on various neurological conditions (e.g., insomnia, anxious/nervous emotion, headaches, facial palsy, stroke, Parkinson’s disease). Starting in the spring of 2025, she is proud to be able to offer her services in Montague in Eastern PEI.

While her professional career of more than a decade has been to integrate the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine into the modern health care system, she knows the limitations of both approaches and seeks to find the best treatment for every individuals. Her approach is to support the body’s natural healing abilities by applying acupuncture, using herbal medicine, and providing individualized care. She strives to offer a more holistic treatment that can accompany the patient on the path to healing.
